About Pet Problem Solver
A free website that helps pet owners work through common cat litter and dog behavior problems with practical, step-by-step plans.
What this website is
Pet Problem Solver is a free website with two question-based tools — a Cat Litter Problem Solver and a Dog Daily Behavior Problem Solver — plus a small number of in-depth guides. It is built for pet owners who want a clear, practical starting plan for common everyday problems.
How the tools work
You choose a problem, answer a few short questions about your pet and your situation, and the tool builds a plan from a fixed set of written rules. The plan includes likely contributing factors, steps for today and this week, a 7-day action plan, things to monitor, warning signs, and guidance on when to seek professional help.
The plans are generated in your browser from the answers you select. They are general guidance, not an assessment of your individual animal.
What this website does not do
- It does not diagnose medical or behavioral conditions.
- It does not replace a veterinarian, and it cannot examine your pet.
- It is not a substitute for a qualified professional animal behavior consultant when behavior is serious, dangerous or getting worse.
- It does not recommend punishment-based training methods.
When to contact a veterinarian
Sudden changes in a pet’s behavior or toileting can be a sign of a medical problem. Contact a veterinarian promptly if your pet seems unwell or in pain.
For cats, straining to urinate, producing little or no urine, crying in the litter box, or blood in the urine can indicate an emergency. Inability to urinate needs immediate veterinary care. For dogs, aggression, biting, serious fear, dangerous behavior or severe distress should be assessed by a veterinarian and/or a qualified force-free behavior professional.
Cost and accounts
The tools and guides are free to use. No account or payment is required.
